Until the end of the year in the Joint Supercomputer Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (JSCC) will be launched the first phase of a supercomputer, which after completion will be the most productive in Russia, surpassing the first place Lomonosov `system`.

According to the deputy director of the JSCC Boris Shabanov, a part of the launch of the first stage supercomputer will earn two legs of the total capacity of 2 petaflops, which will already be enough to overcome the result of `University`. The final version of the system, the total cost of which is estimated at 2 billion, will consist of 54 racks with a total capacity of at least 10 petaflops. `One of the requirements for compute nodes is to take heat from them inside the rack only liquid coolant. Work this supercomputer running CentOS 6.2 or later version `, - the terms of reference.

#39;There comes the era of 10-petaflopsnyh machines. We develop these technologies, go to them. Our task is to make the end of year two of the first pillar, then the technology will allow a reasonable period of time - over the next year - provided necessary capital investments to increase capacity to 10 petaflops#39;, - the #39;Izvestia#39; Boris Shabanov.

Meanwhile, work on the supercomputer of this class is in the walls of the company `T-Platforms#39; for the Moscow State University. The system will be built with the use of water cooling and will come into operation in the 2013-2014 year.

In accordance with the current world ranking of supercomputers TOP500, `system` Lomonosov takes place 22. In addition to her in the rating included four Russian supercomputer. One of them is in MCTS Academy of Sciences, the other - in the South Ural State University, and two more - at the Kurchatov Institute.

Leading American system of Sequoia, which showed the Linpack benchmark performance of 16.32 petaflops.
