IN BRAZIL TEXTILE EXPORTS GREW BY 11 65%

IN BRAZIL EXPORTS INCREASED BY TEXTILE 11.65%

The event Fashion Business in Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Pimentel (Fernando Pimentel), head of the Brazilian Association of Textile and Apparel Industry (ABIT), said that in the first five months of 2005, exports of textile products increased by 11.65% to $ 804 45 million, compared with the same period in 2004.

However, this figure is much lower than that achieved in 2004, when exports grew by 19.77% compared to the same period in 2003. As an added Pimentel, despite the growth of textile exports, there are certain difficulties in its implementation.

Some industries, including textiles and clothing, are already experiencing the problems that have arisen as a result of the appreciation of the currency by 28% over the past 12 months and 10% for the first 5 months of 2005.
