FACTORY OF THE MUSEUM
In the department of Ecuador Imbabura restore a textile factory of the same name, built in 1924, and is now destined for the museum.
Factory Imbabura played an important role in the development of light industry of Ecuador. At its peak, it provided jobs for almost all the inhabitants of the surrounding areas - more than a thousand people.
In 1995, the factory was closed due to non-profitability, and in 2001 the government announced its building of the Cultural Heritage of Ecuador.
Involved in the restoration of buildings of the Ministry of heritage, culture and tourism, and are the authors of the idea of turning the factory in the museum area of 10,000 square meters. The exhibition will consist of several sections devoted, in particular, the history of textile production and trade union movement in Ecuador. Visitors can also see the machines early XX century, preserved in the factory in operation.
Besides the museum, the building will be equipped with learning and innovation center for technicians, fashion designers, modern quality control laboratory and textile research center of current trends in fashion and technology of light industry.
