NUCLEAR WEAPONS IN IRAQ WILL SEARCH latest equipment
UN inspectors arrived in Iraq today, technologically equipped much better than their predecessors, who worked four years ago, according to ITAR-TASS. At the disposal of the experts, there are new devices that can greatly facilitate their mission and make it more efficient.
In particular, as is learned from sources close to the UN Commission on Disarmament, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC) inspectors are equipped with ultra-compact devices #39;Ranger#39;, able to accurately capture gamma radiation.
Another device called #39;Alex#39; quickly analyzes the content of fine particles of metals in various substances. This detector will detect, for example, suspicious copper traces, which is used for production of special containers for storage of active ingredients in the manufacture of nuclear weapons.
