RUSSIA AND THE U.S. SIGNED A PROTOCOL ON CHANGES IN PRICES FOR RUSSIAN STEEL

Russian Ministry of Economic Development Ministry of Trade and the U.S. signed on Friday a protocol on amendments to the agreement to suspend the anti-dumping investigation in respect of certain hot-rolled flat carbon steel products from the Russian Federation, according to the Russian trade mission in Washington.

`The Russian side has signed the protocol Russian trade representative in the U.S. Rinat Dosmukhamedov - on the American Deputy Secretary of Commerce for Import Administration Ronald Lorentzen`, - stated in the trade mission.

Earlier, on November 17, the Ministry of Trade United States reported that Moscow has agreed to an updated draft of the agreement on the minimum price of Russian hot-rolled steel in the U.S. market. According to the document, the minimum price of Russian steel will be raised.

Acted US-Russian agreement on hot-rolled steel was reached in 1999. On it were also introduced quotas for certain types of Russian steel production in the United States. Revision of the agreement was initiated in June, on request of an interested party in the USA - steelmaker Nucor Corporation, which considers it irrelevant.
