BEST MUSEUM IN ASIA IN RUSSIAN avant-garde BE BUILT IN UZBEKISTAN

According to our correspondent, the final decision to build was made during a study visit on March 5 this year, the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan M. Hozhimatova at the museum.

During his visit the Minister discussed the details of the construction of the new facility with the management of the museum and local experts.

According to available information, the new complex of the State Art Museum of the Republic of Karakalpakstan will include a `unit for exhibitions#39; and #39;storage unit#39; background with a total usable area of more than ten thousand square meters.

Construction of the museum began on March 10 of this year, and will last just over four years.

To date, the State Museum of Art named after Savitsky is one of the largest museums in Uzbekistan. According to the fund this museum is considered to be the world#39;s second-largest collection as well as the best in Asia by Russian avant-garde.

The museum was founded in Nukus in the middle of the twentieth century, archaeologist and ethnographer Igor Savitsky, who was able to assemble the greatest collection of fine art masters of the time. Within a short time Savitsky was able to create one of the most authentic collections of avant-garde painters and Russian Turkestan.

The first works, which were posted on the walls of the museum, there were pictures of A. Isupova, L. Kramarenko, Ulyanov, R. Falk, M. Voloshin, R. Mazel, A. Volkov, M. Kurzina, N. Karahan, U. Tansykbaev, V. Ufimtseva and others.

Today, the fund of the museum has more than 90 thousand a variety of exhibits. In particular, the works of Eugene Lysenko, Alexander Volkov, Michael Kurzina, Alexander Nikolayev, Hope Borovoy Amshi Nuremberg and many others.
