THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR JAPAN STEEL INCREASED THEIR EXPORTS BY 18%

In January and February of this year, Japan has increased exports of steel products over the same period last year by 18.2% to 7,289 million tons, the materials referred to in Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).

In February 2013 the Japanese steel exports increased compared with the same period last year by 12.6% to 3.632 million tonnes, but has decreased in comparison with January by 0.7%.

For two months of the final external supplies of steel products increased by 15% to 4.694 million tonnes, semi - by 44.5% to 1.071 million tons

The largest market for Japanese steelmakers in January and February was South Korea, where it was shipped 1.249 million tons (-2.2%). At the same time, steel exports to China fell by 8.7% to 872.6 thousand tons in Taiwan External sales jumped by 56% to 741.6 tonnes, Thailand - 29.9%; to 915 thousand tons, while in the U.S. declined by 6.7% to 386.8 thousand tons

At the same time in 2 months steel imports to Japan decreased by 11.9% to 1.148 million tons in February, the import of steel products decreased compared to the same period last year by 14.3% to 516.8 thousand tons, compared with January - by 18.1%.

At the same time, imports of final steel products in January-February fell by 13.7% to 634.8 thousand tons

South Korea, the largest supplier of steel products to Japan, imports decreased by 12.4% to 573.9 thousand tons, Taiwan - by 2.9%, to 154.6 thousand tons, China - by 16.9%, to 189.6 thousand tons
