IN LATIN AMERICA INCREASING NUMBER OF CARBON STEEL
In February 2013 the Latin American countries have increased production of carbon steel compared to the same period last year by 4% to 5.5 million tonnes Such data are the Latin American Association of Steel (Alacero).
The largest steel producer in the region, Brazil has become a figure of 3 million tonnes (6%). Second place went to Mexico - 1.5 million tons (no change). The share of the two countries in the total Latin American Smelting was 82%.
