SOON TO BE DEVELOPED PROGRAM OF COAL INDUSTRY
Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said that in the near future will be a comprehensive program of revival and development of the coal industry of Ukraine for 2005-2006.
As a correspondent, he said this on August 28, speaking at the ceremonial meeting dedicated to the Miner#39;s Day in Donetsk Music and Drama Theatre named after Artem.
Let#39;s sit down for the first time at the round table will discuss the problems of the coal industry and make a program for the years 2005-2006, - said the President.
He said that it will be the program, which starts counting from the revival of the industry.
Yushchenko noted that in recent years has been done everything to destroy the mine, was held for years without liberalization of coal prices. In his view, the coal industry should be self-sufficient. However, he noted that the industry should not border on the criminal structures.
In his speech, the President also noted that in 2005 the government and the parliament elected the right tactics, taking the social budget, but at the same time, if we will deal with the distribution of sweets, we can slow down economic growth. Next year, we need to create a reform of economic growth. Conception in 2006 - it is the policy of reforms and policy changes, these reforms are starting to create a Ministry of Coal Industry.
According to Yushchenko, he is happy that yesterday was the last paid arrears of wages to miners. In the Miner#39;s Day we went out with no debt: In Donetsk banks did not have enough cash, but we have solved this problem. Later our goal - to prevent the accumulation of new social debt.
The president gave the leaders of the industry task: to mobilize all resources to ensure safe working conditions in the mines.
At a solemn meeting of the President presented the best managers and employees of state-owned coal industry awards: the Order For Courage, Courage, For work and win, and awarded the title of honorary miner Ukraine.
August 15 the then Deputy Minister of Fuel and Energy Viktor Topolov (currently he is the minister of the coal industry) said that the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine will hold a revision of the coal industry, as well as to take action against directors of enterprises, which recorded relatively poor condition of the wage board.

According to Tymoshenko, the total amount of wage arrears to miners is over 320 million USD.
