IRAN GETS fifth CONSUMER GAS IN THE WORLD

According to the latest annual BP Statistical Review, the domestic consumption of gas in Iran, reportedly rose by 5.1%, ie to 78.4 million tons of oil equivalent in 2004.


For the year, gas production reached 77 million tons of oil equivalent, up 4.8% compared with 2003. The total gas consumption in Iran has increased due to import gas from Turkmenistan.

Iran is the fifth gas consumer in the world.
