Sister of the artist began their journey together in 1977, on the same course textile department of the Riga School of Applied Arts, and then also studied together at the Latvian Academy of Arts. After graduation they parted ways.
The eldest, Ilona, went to teach in Rezekne, Daugavpils and then led the school Saules. Younger, Dace, remained in Riga work in LU, now she is the organizer of exhibitions of textiles.
