DEVELOPING COUNTRIES ASK FOR HELP WTO

DEVELOPING COUNTRIES ASK FOR HELP WTO

Developing countries are asking for support from the World Trade Organization (WTO), as China, which increased textile exports, removes them from the world market of textile products.

Turkey stated that the WTO, the role of which is to maintain the stability of world trade, should take immediate steps to address the situation created as a result of fierce competition from China.

Sales representatives of Turkey stated that countries exporting textile products have strong competition and are afraid of being forced out of their home markets.

China, however, said that the global textile industry had enough time to prepare for the expiry of the quotas on textile products, reports fibre2fashion
