As previously reported, Kompyulenta, the company nVidia November 18, 2002 introduced a new GPU Geforce FX. As it became known columnists online publication Inquirer, nVidia plans to release two versions of the processor - the 5800 and 5800 Ultra. Apparently, the number 5 in the chip name should reflect the fact that this chip is the fifth generation GeForce.
Representatives nVidia has not confirmed this information, and claim that the numerical codes, the company awarded the new chips will be made public only in January 2003, after the formal submission of the first graphics cards based on these processors.
About the approximate price of graphics cards based on the GeForce FX has not reported, however, as predicted by observers Inquirer, the first high-performance graphics cards based on the GPU Geforce FX 5800 Ultra will cost about $ 500, and the cards are based on the basic version of the chip Geforce FX 5800 - about $ 400.
