NVIDIA introduced the graphics processor GEFORCE FX
GeForce FX processor runs at a clock frequency of 500 MHz, has eight pixel pipelines, two RAMDAC with a clock frequency of 400 MHz, and 128-bit memory interface, which can operate at frequencies up to 1 GHz. The new chip provides a graphical protocol AGP 8x.
According to the developer, the new processor, which consists of 125 million transistors, will be produced in the factories of Taiwan Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) on 0.13-micron process technology with copper conductors. Series production of these processors on the 300-mm wafers will start in the fourth fiscal quarter, which ends in January 2003.
As representatives of nVidia, in the coming weeks PCs with a new graphics processor GeForce FX will present the company Alienware, CyberPower, iBUYPOWER, Falcon Northwest, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Hypersonic PC Systems, Vicious PC and VoodooPC.
Video cards based on GeForce FX in the near future the company plans to release ASUS Computer International, BFG Technologies, eVGA.com, Gainward, Leadtek Research and MSI Computer.
