AOPEN presented the motherboard based chipset INTEL GRANITE BAY
The Taiwanese company AOpen 18 November 2002 introduced a new motherboard AX4R Plus for graphical entry-level workstations. According to the manufacturer, the new board is designed for use in educational institutions, as well as smaller companies.
Mainboard AX4R Plus is based on the latest chipset Intel E7205 (code name - Granite Bay) and is designed for use with Intel Pentium 4 processors with Hyper-Threading technology and the system bus running at 533 MHz
This motherboard supports dual-channel DDR 266 memory and a graphics protocol AGP 8x. Fee AX4R Plus has four slots for memory modules DDR DIMM up to 4GB and controller Serial ATA. The board has six PCI expansion slots, ports and four USB 2.0. In addition, the board uses a network controller 10/100 Ethernet and six-channel audio controller Realtek.
Dimensions of the board is 305 x 244 mm.
According to DigiTimes, motherboard AX4R Plus will be available in November 2002.
