IN TAIWAN AND ROMANIA TO SUPPLY EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEMS

In Taiwan, Alstom won a contract from the company CTCI to supply emission control systems for the renovation project power plant in Dalin (2 x 800 MW), developed by Taiwan Power Company. Alstom will supply a flue gas desulfurization system with sea water (SWFGD) and fabric filter to remove solid particles. It is expected that the newly constructed units 1 and 2 will be launched in commercial operation in 2016 and 2017.

The system SWFGD company Alstom - the most economical of the existing desulfurization technology that satisfies the stringent requirements of environmental protection legislation. As absorbent there is used seawater ensures that no waste disposal and the need for the final product. This is the second application SWFGD of Alstom in Taiwan, followed by reconstruction of the coal power plant in Linkou (3 x 800 MW).

In Romania, Alstom will establish a system of wet flue gas desulphurization (Wet FGD) plant at Craiova 2 (2 x 150 MW), owned by the Romanian energy company SC Complexul Energetic Oltenia SA. Implementation of the project will result in emissions power plant in compliance with the latest European environmental standards due to a sharp reduction in sulfur dioxide emissions.

Alstom continues to strengthen its leading position as a supplier of equipment emission control systems for industry and energy. To date, Alstom has installed more than 100 systems SWFGD in different countries, power plants with total capacity of about 42 GW. Alstom also installed more than 360 systems, baghouses, 95 systems Wet FGD, 1100, and 100 of electrostatic systems NIDT (dry desulphurization) worldwide.
