But it is clear that the textile workers need government support in order to level the competitive position compared to other manufacturers of WTO member countries#39;, - said Mikhail Men.


This position was also supported by the governor of Kostroma region Sergey Sitnikov, who believes that the possibility of public support at the regional level have been exhausted, and ensuring the competitiveness of the domestic industry in the WTO becomes a task of Russian level.

Discussing the competitive position of the domestic textile industry, members of the Interim Committee of the Federation Council unanimously agreed that a major task and challenge to the industry is access to the rapidly growing market of synthetic fibers, the transition to a new quality of raw materials, the new assortment policy, along with the development of traditional industries. `Should give impetus to the project of creating in the Ivanovo region of the complex for the production of PET that in three or four years to enter the planned production volumes and to take a leading competitive position. The complex will be able to fully meet the needs of Russia in the synthetic fiber #39;- said George Kalamanov. As explained by the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Ivanovo region Kon#39;kov Paul, the projected range of targets to produce 200,000 tons of fiber per year.


Total investments amount to 10 billion rubles.

In particular, to proposals for changes in the mechanism of the state order of priority in the use of domestic products and the pre-emptive right to participate in bidding for Russian companies. Also discussed to improve the mechanisms for granting subsidies on loans for the modernization of industrial enterprises and raw materials supply. Also announced the formation of an intergovernmental commission for the fight against contraband and counterfeit products on the market.
