London authorities have decided to upgrade street lighting and put 14,000 new lights for the next four years. The highlight is that the lights will be #39;smart#39;. Special sensors in case of failure of at least one lamp will give the signal to the iPad technicians responsible for the maintenance lights.

Using a special application of the same tablet can be controlled and the brightness of each light bulbs separately.

And although the cost of this upgrade is £ 3,25 billion, according to government estimates it will pay for itself within seven years and will allow taxpayers to save £ 420,000 annually from the 2015-2016 year.
