Regarding China#39;s success in mineral exploration
Since 2012, China has made new progress in the exploration of mineral resources, said yesterday in the northern Chinese city of Tianjin Minister of Land and Resources of China Xu Shaoshi at the opening of the China International Mining Conference 2012.
Xu Shaoshi said that in the last months of the year in the country observed a number of large oil fields with reserves of 100 million tons and above, and major gas fields with reserves of more than 100 billion cubic meters of gas, an important technological breakthrough achieved in the development of shale gas and deepwater oil and gas exploration resources in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Qinghai, Jiangxi, Sichuan and Guizhou, as well as in other regions of the country formed a number of new bases for the extraction of coal, uranium, copper, aluminum, nickel, tungsten, iron, bauxite and other minerals.
Xu Shaoshi said China is paying close attention to mineral exploration and intends to make further efforts to overcome the effects of inadequate supply of minerals to the socio-economic development of the country. According to him, it is necessary to strengthen the exploration for economic use of mineral resources, enhance communication and cooperation between China and other countries in the field of mining.
Xu Shaoshi said that in a period of slow revival of the global economy world Miners should strengthen solidarity and joint efforts to counteract the difficulties and challenges and to ensure the sustainable development of the international mining industry.
